| From the Staff and Management of Arthur Murray in Columbia 9176 Red Branch Rd, Suite H Columbia, MD 21045 Tel: 410-772-7880 On behalf of Henri Landwirth and his foundation- "Give Kids the World", Arthur Murray of Columbia is holding "Dancing for Dreams". The event is being held on February 6th in our studio from 7pm until 9pm. Mr Landwirth has been described as a child at heart with a simple wish to help comfort them in a time of need. Once a hotelier in Florida's Space Coast region, Henri has opened his hotel rooms to children to ailing and dying children to stay free of charge during their dream vacations. He has created an open door so to ease the planning hassles that most other foundations have to go through to conduct the child's last wishes. With the kids in mind Landwirth created Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida designed for each family to stay for a week while visiting Central Florida's many top theme parks and attractions. Each night of the week the resort holds themed gatherings and special events to give continuous entertainment during the family's stay. Since the entire Village is wheelchair accessible, no one could ever miss out on any activity the resort has to offer. One child's story: On their way to the Village one mother called from the airplane to the resort feeling that her daughter would not make it through the plane ride. Well, she did; and when they arrived the young girl jumped out of the car and starting running around to try to experience all of the resort at once. Fearing for her child's ability to handle the activity, the mother called the pediatrician who in turn instructed the mother to let her daughter run and be active. After her stay at the Village, the little girl survived for six more months. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help children around the world who are terminally ill have a dream come true with a day of happiness and fun with their families! A chance for a dream vacation to be had by as many children as Give Kids the World can touch. ALL of the proceeds raised for the evening even will go directly to the organization. Here's how to participate: Sponsor An Instructor- You pledge your donation to an instructor asking them to dance for a time interval, or for a specific dance that they will perform perform in honor of your donation. Time(x) + Duration/Type of Dance(y) = Your Donation Get Sponsored as a Student- Ask family and friends to sponsor you and join us in the dancing. Bring them with you so they can join in the fun. They can sponsor you using the same equation as above. Give a Flat Donation- If you will not be here that Friday night but would still like to help raise the money, you can give a flat donation of any amount to your instructor or your friends. Bake Sale & Silent Auction- We will be hosting a bake sale that evening. You can help two ways with this. come hungry and enjoy some yummy treats or bake away and bring in your favorite baked good. Also if you have anything that you would like to donate to the silent auction that would be greatly appreciated. REMEMBER- ALL PROCEEDS GO TO "GIVE KIDS THE WORLD" |
